I use both locks on my big living room slide but on the bedroom and kitchen slides I just use one lock that is easily accessible.

They say you should use crows foot wrench to release the torque nuts but people do use wrench's.
There are two torque settings 125# and 145# can find the correct info in
QT's 1 &2 slide section.

I don't as it was a couple of years ago. I can try to find it again. I think some of the information actually came from this forum.

Found it: Newmar Slide Information

My 2012 Newmar Canyon Star 3920 has two slide outs, large one for main living room and small one for head of master bed. There are locking arms for the main living room slide out, but there doesn't seem to be any locking mechanism for the master bed slide out. Am I missing something?

We have a 2001 DS with 2 slides...
We are in my daughter's driveway (grandkids)...
Will be here for another year so we don't mess with the slides...
I have pushed the slide buttons by mistake over time...
You can put tape over the switches to avoid this but I found a better solution...
I pulled the 12v DC fuse to disable the slide motors...

This is an interesting read. We have owned a Phaeton for 4 years with 4 slide rooms two electric motor and 2 hydraulic. None of them have slide locks and for all the variety of issues I have faced, I have never had an issue with the slideouts moving or leaking while underway. One stop bolt did snap, but it was set to prevent pulling the slideout in too far. It was an easy replacement.

Of course Newmar slideout systems are supposed to be unique to Newmar.

No one associated with the Newmar product will put it in writing but it has been eluded to by Certified Newmar Service Technicians as well as the Newmar Service Tech at Newmar that running without locking the slides is not an issue. Sure hope not, because getting to the bedroom slide lock is very difficult so we have not been locking the slides and have put over 5K miles with no issues.

We did it, too, and the slide bent the lock at end of kitchen. We knew better than move it, so took it off, straightened it, put it back and it works fine. I also use a checklist now and a sticky note at the switch to "lock" the arms when leaving.
I think we have almost completed all of the mistakes you can make and our list is long. I dread to think of what will be next.

I've owned 8 motorhomes with slides, 6 new, 2 used. I think all but one came with slide locks. However every checkout we've had on a new coach the salesman has told us we didn't need to use the locks. We haven't, we've put over 60,000 miles on several coaches, so far not problems.
