Definitely fancier than other service CGs we've used. I'm guessing it isn't FHU though?

I have just arrived at Camping Newmar, my 2005 Dutch Star with Ontario plates. I parked on one of the main campsites off Cheyanne in front of the service center. It's my first time in Nappanee. I am dropping off Tuesday for January service. Does anyone have a wifi password? Getting a rental Monday so looking for ideas for what's good in walking distance...a half hour walk one way is fine with the daytime weather quite nice!

Hi Colin59,
Being tomorrow is Sunday, most of Nappenee is closed. Call Amish Acres to see if they are open for food. It is right across the street. Downtown Nappenee is a good 1/2 hour walk. The only thing open will be Hunters. It is bar food and on the south side of the town at the stop light.
On Monday after you get your car,
For breakfast the Dutch Kitchen. From the current/old Newmar CG go west to the end of Newmar property. Turn right and go about 100 yards. It will be on your left.
For lunch or dinner Amish Acers. Across the street from Newmar
For lunch or dinner Das Dutchmen Essenhaus on route 20 in Middlebury.
For lunch or dinner Blue Gate in Shipshewana.
All three of the lunch or dinner places have a local theater attached to them. Local theater is a great way to spend an evening. Give it a try, you will be impressed and glad you did.
The only advice is to forget your diet. Enjoy the Amish cooking.
I assume you are leaving on Tuesday.

Yep, now that. I really don't think it matters. Anyone here reading this forum can know the password. Not a great wifi system, cellular is better if you have it. I did speak with someone at the new building about the unusable WiFi in the pet lounge and Bldg 42 so hopefully in the future people there will have a usable connection and hopefully something faster for the CG as well.

Just a note of Caution - Be Sure to have removed ANYTHING that will freeze as it gets Cold in Nappanee - Things will freeze and it will leave a MESS.

I agree on emptying the RV, you can see the rows of RV's in the service /maintenance process alone Delaware some have been here for months, most of the recent ones have a winterized or winterized by owner tag in the window. The service writer confirmed that they would winterize mine on drop off, I had minimum of water tank (not hot water tank) black and grey tank water pump and lines in service for this trip, so winterizing should just take line blowout and antifreeze add. I will drain the fresh tank and dump before check in.

Camp Newmar in January
Plenty of open spots for all of you that have trouble getting one the rest of the year!!!! Downside - 28 degrees, snow. New service building and waiting area is really nice. New campsites across the road will be ready in spring sometime.
