Smile Who’ at Camp Newmar

I have FPU set for April 22nd. Hope the new CG is finished by then. Was told I it would be done in March and I could do side by side parking to ease the transfer of “stuff.” Hope the snow will be gone and lots of sunshine.

My FPU starts April 1. I hadn’t heard either way about where I’ll be. Hope you’re right about it being finished in March. I’ll post results as soon as I know.

Who’s at Camp Newmar

Our last visit to Nappanee was Oct 2018 to meet with Michelle Howard. During our factory tour we were told the new CG would be opened by year end. Obviously weather is the unknown but hopefully spring is around the corner for northern IN. I am surprised the sites will be perpendicular back in and not slanted pull in. Perhaps that design was necessary for the number of sites to match the number of new service bays. Thanks Vegabell for those pics. Nice update.

They are like the first on the list when the asphalt factories open up.

Current campground has a few pull through sites and the rest back in.

Those I believe they were back in's as well originally but the fence to the lot next door was removed during one of the 50 or so construction projects.

As far as angle parking for the ease of backing in, that's all well and good for us. But keep in mind that we will only be backing in one time. Every other time the techs will get it in the morning and bring it back that afternoon.

My guess is they needed to get as many as they can into the piece of property they had. Angle parking takes up more space.

I'm sure the next thing we will be discussing is "how close they all are, worse than an KOA". Keep in mind this is not a campground it is a repair facility convenience.

Smile At Kamp Newmar for a week so far..

We've been in Nappanee for a week getting service work and a few warranty items completed.
Parked over at Building 10 at night.
Currently waiting for some replacement parts that are needed to complete the work of some unscheduled items. Probably depart Thursday or so depending on parts delivery.
It has been a great stay so far. Many items that we have been waiting to get adjusted/installed/repaired have been completed.
The new Service Center is fabulous. By summer the new full hookup spaces should be ready.
Dennis B is assigned to us. Terrific tradesmen and a great guy. The coach will leave here at 100% correct.

Just got back, nice Service Center. The new camp ground is not done. Thet say to much rain has caused the delay. They hope by end of spring.

Dropped off our DSDP on Monday. The new campground has all of the pads poured (62) but frost and rain have brought it to a stop. Sue at the new service center indicated that it may be complete in May. The old overflow area is now fenced off so get there early to get a spot at the old service center. Will update when we pick up our coach next week. We are very impressed with the new facility.

Need shore power

This will be interesting. We are an all elect. coach with no generator power and one inverter out, so over half of our 110 outlets have no power. We have a service appointment in a couple of weeks to fix the issues and need shore power. Can we reach power thru the fence or something? Is service aware of the loss of parking spaces? For all the service bays they now have, but only have 16-18 spots with power. Lucy we have a problem. Is any body on the forum in service is check on this issue, before I get on the phone and start shaking the trees.

Hi alan1,
Get up each morning and be a "hawk" with the sites that have coaches. Take the time to introduce yourself to folks and see when they are leaving. There are usually coaches leaving late each week and over the weekend. I have a dumb question. If your service appointment isn't for a couple of weeks why are you there now? There are several CG chouces in Elkhart and Shipshewana to choose from.

I'm sure you have already checked but consider checking:
1. breaker on the generator
2. breaker on the inverter (30 AMP button breaker)
Good luck.
