I spent quite a while with both Bruce and Craig with both not knowing the source of the issue, but probably several items and I just need to get to a service center. Both of your suggestions being tried first. I metered power from the gen at the transfer switch which suggests the transfer switch. Loss of outlets suggests one of my inverters. Fuse buttons are not popped out. As far as bird dogging the full hookup sites I have plenty of experience doing that and got your site one time. Now there are going to be a lot of people needing one of those sites. As I understand the new fencing it sounds like 12-14 sites were removed from use. This leaves only 15 or so spots for people going to 50 bays of service spots. I am in Little Rock waiting for my appt. and will make a dash when my time comes, but once my batteries are down my basement freezer and upstairs refrigerator are not going to work very well. There are other sites around such as next to the tour building and others that should be opened up until the new campground is opened. I kind of wonder if one hand does not know what the other is doing.

Are they scheduling more service appts then there are slots in the old campground? I would suspect that most service appts are multi day, like mine upcoming on May1, so the demand on the spots should be less. What about the overflow area, does being "fenced off" mean there are no spots there?

Since I am not at CN I assume being fenced off means those elect only sites are now gone. The plans were those spots would be removed once the new campground opened. Sounds like someone jumped the gun. While the repairs take multi-day most come out at night for the owners to stay in. I could not get in early as all service slots were and are full. I don't know the places the extra coaches are going to.

Just talked with service and power is still available in the overflow area. I sure wish someone on the forum could verify this with their eyes.

Hi alan1,
To make your "dash" shorter consider:
1. 4H County Fair Grounds in Elkhart at http://www.4hfairgrounds.com/
2. Shipshewana Nor or South Go to Home
https://shipshewanatradingplace.com/rv/
Full hookups and things to do.

There is limited power only sites at the new service center in the Main parking lot. Building 10 lot is almost full. This is with extended service folks like me. We’ve been here going on Three weeks. Hopefully we depart Tuesday or Wednesday. There are a couple other departures early in the coming week.

Thanks very much.

Hi Deek,
For me the order of favorite is:
1. 4H County Fair Grounds
2. Shipshewana South
3. Shipshewana North
The fair grounds is #1 because it is cheaper than the other two and I know where I am going to see what I want to see (like the dinner theaters). Closest of the three to Newmar. South is next because it is close to downtown Shipshewana and to get to Newmar. North is last as it is the farthest away from surrounding area activities.
There is nothing to write home about for the CGs. Pretty much basic full hookup sites and that is it. I haven't had any difficulty with the water at these CGs, but carry a spare water filter or two. All three are easy in and out. There are no trees at 4H or Shipshewana South.

As of this morning at CN there are at least 5 spots here that are open ( old full hook up section). And to repeat myself the electric only overflow is open and active.

I thought the overflow spot by the old campground was water and electricity.

It is water/electric but they shut the water off in October for the winter, not sure when they turn it back on. I think sometime in April.
