Not a guess but a fact. The IR is the first week in October.

I haven't followed them closely, I thought last year it was in conjunction with the FMCA rally in summer or so, which I thought coincided with the summer factory shutdown. Am I remembering wrong.

No drama, curiosity.

A Newmar customer service rep told me they shut down for the international rally and another week for training. Hard to get an appointment in September.

I was there this week. No progress from recent posts. Concrete pads poured, asphalt roads paved, electric lines sticking up at each site but no pedestals or water supply yet, spaces between pads not yet filled or seeded.

The latest “drop dead” date I heard was June 1, but it’s not the first drop dead date to be floated. The wet weather continues to be a problem.

What is the protocol on the tours? Are there several types and do you need to pre-register?
Thanks

Hi Hawkeye,
The morning tour needs reservations. It covers chassis, assembly and paint. The afternoon tour just show up. It covers assembly.

Yes, you need to register for the morning tour. They only take 20 people max.
Call 800-852-1731 for reservations.

You do not need to register for the afternoon tour. Just show up and go.
Things are winding down on the afternoon tour so some areas are already shut down for the day. Not nearly as much activity. The morning tour is very different. Things are hopping everywhere.

You start with an orientation film and then pile into the van. You will go to the chassis yard and hopefully there is a flatbed offloading chassis. They come stacked two to a trailer. A hoist lifts them off and they drive it away. Fun to watch.

Then into the chassis building. This is where the floors are constructed, star foundation welded on etc. Newmar builds the floor and then lifts it with suction cups and sets it on the frame. Again, fun to watch this process.

The assembly building is where the chassis will spend 4 days getting put together. Fun to see them push a chassis sideways. They use air pads under each wheel. These guys hustle here.
I got to go into my coach before the roof and off-door slide was on. Sign a side wall the take pictures.

Final stop is the service center across town. It's an impressive facility. They drive you through the building so you get to see lots of coaches getting work done When I was there there was a coach that was getting a complete remodel, including roof! Newmar will work on ANY unit they built. Does not matter if it's 40 years old. Of course that will come at a price I'm sure.

Tour stops outside service and you get to walk through and see the customer lounges (2), break room and see laundry. They have two lounges because one is pet friendly and the other is lonely (LOL). Sorry I couldn't help it. It has 51 service bays with several having the overhead gantry to allow easy access to the roof. It's very well done.
New campground is across the street.

Note: Only owners with a unit on the line are allowed to take photos.

Hope that helps,

John
