I'm a little confused about Amish Acres and The Inn at Amish Acres. Are they two different Inns? Seems when I read about them the are both Inns. I think Amish Acres is also a farm that you can tour?

Hi RKins,
Amish Acres has a restaurant, farm to tour, store to shop, local theater and depending on the time of year outdoor foody to buy.

Amish Inn is a motel. The Inn is plain and simple. It is clean and neat. There is a light breakfast available (no additional cost). Some like it because of the location. Some do not like it due to what I just said. For me, I like it and stay there.

Do not know if they are owned by the same company.

Gary, I thought the Newmar Campground was for Newmars only. I never saw anyone with a different coach in there.

Gary is correct. The present camp grounds are there for service and prospective buyers no mater what brand you presently have.

Were the rub comes is the other brand takes up a full service site when the Newmar owner has to use the sites up on Delaware which are available to everyone as well. No big deal but a fact. Kinda like coming home from college and your sisters friend is using your room so you have to sleep on the day bed in the basement.

The New Campgrounds will solve this with fifty sites, for service customer's only, right across from Building 42. The new camp grounds will have a gated lot. It will take a code for someone to get in and sites will be assigned to a Coach number or work order number, I'm not sure that has bee determined yet. When you arrive you will go to the service desk in 42 and sign in. I'm sure that sooner or later someone is going to figure out that everyone isn't going to arrive during business hours and then the code for your entry will come to you at the time that the window tag does. Hence coach number or W O number would be the best code. However you get in, the "rule", as I understand it to b,e will be two days after your appointment concludes you will have to leave. The present sites will remain open for Newmar visitors and or SOB's wanting to look at a Newmar to buy.

Hi WulfHaslett,
The present Camp Newmar has always been open to everyone. It is a real simple philosophy for Newmar. Everyone is treated the same. I could tell some first hand stories about this but most have already been posted, over time. For the Millers, nobody is better than anybody else. It would be great if Newmar owners had the same view.

Now from a courtesy view, if one is there for something other than service (requires an appointment), one should park in the electric/water sites along Delaware Street. Notice I did not say the brand of coach. I mention only the reason for the visit. There is a dump station in the full hookup area next to site #6.

Please note the full hookup area of the current Camp Newmar is a filthy place due to dust. The area along Delaware Street is much cleaner and a few sites are paved.

It sounds like my best deal for the trip in September heading to the Newmar Hoots rally is to first try to get a spot at the old campground at Camp Newmar. If they are full I would then try one of the several campgrounds for a spot. I would have to time it where we can take the tour. I am thinking 2 nights at least, but I may try for 3 nights to have time to explore the area.

Gary, I don't care who camps where. I just didn't know. I am happy for anyone who has a RV, no matter what brand it is. I have never been the type of person who feels one RV is better than another. I am glad the Miller Family has the Campground open to anyone.

Gary, No, I was not offended at all. I felt stupid that I did not know anyone could camp there. I am glad to know that. Thanks

Hotel without pets

Can someone recommend a hotel within 10 miles of Newmar that does not allow pets? We liked Oakwood caliber, but can't do pet friendly hotels.
Much Thanks-
