Campground update

As of posting date, the asphalt is being put down. Elect. pedestals and spigots need to be installed, light poles and gravel between sites still to be placed. Goal is 5/1, I say 1 week later.

Old overflow that is to be closed has had all water lines removed but power is still available. The word is the f/h/u sites will be kept when new campground is opened but reduced to 10 sites. which is the number of back to back sites.

so, am i correct in thinking that there will still be some electric only sites, in addition to the roughly 10 FHU sites ? methinks that just 10 FHU sites would not be enough for the transient traffic that comes through for various reasons....

Rain stopped the paving today. It’s coming along.
New service facility is first rate.

It's not intended to be a free camp grounds in the middle of IN. It is to visit the factory for a tour and for prospective customers.

I believe only the 10 sites f/h/u will be left. I think water was removed to facilitate the quick removal of the overflow sites when the new campground is opened. A lot of new fencing has been added around Newmar since I was last here, and not referring to just the campground.

Who are you kidding VP - just because people can afford these rigs doesn't mean they won't take advantage of a free overnight site when in the area. I would suspect all of us might do that - even you.
I am going to swing by to make sure I know where to go. While I'm there I'll top off my water, dump the tanks and then move on to the fairgrounds where I have a rez. Newmar offers it so why not use it? Like a "perk" for buying a Newmar. Kinda like Lazy Days has a dump station, a private campground (for people that buy a high ticket item from them) and a public one.
With the new Newmar CG it is by service ticket only so they have it under control.

Be there Wednesday for a two day appointment. If theres no room at the inn, I’ll just find a place to park and fire up the genny.
Maybe if I park close enough to someone they’ll leave[emoji16]

Hi RKins,
I'm with VP Chianese. I feel you are wrong. From April through November CN is full with service appointments. Those wanting a free night should go elsewhere. Why do you think the new CN will have a tightly controlled reservations system? It is to keep the moochers out. Too many owners come in way too early (some a week or more) and leave way after (sometimes a week or more) their appointment is over. Then there are those who are, like you, take a space with no business intent at Newmar. This makes is very difficult for those with legitimate business with Newmar.

As to your comment " just because people can afford these rigs doesn't mean they won't take advantage of a free overnight site when in the area. I would suspect all of us might do that - even you" count me out. Never done that and don't ever plan on doing it.

I've never been here before and who knows, may not be here again BUT this time I do have a service appt.
I would venture, based on the threads I've read here, that grabbing an overnight, even if only in the overflow, is common.

Just arrived at camp Newmar for my first visit! Warranty work all next week. Confusing initially trying to find a spot, 3 cones at FHU sites so I’m in overflow.

Wouldn’t you know it, on my way here today, on US30, both driver’s side shade and visor fell on my lap due to rough road! A little more for the techs to do next week.

anyone wants to visit i’m along Delaware St, Canyon Star!

Marc
