Window fell out of rear egress door

Anyone lost the window on the escape door? Mine fell out yesterday. I don't have a ladder to take a closer look. Not sure how it's supposed to be attached? Maybe it's glued in. I didn't even realize it opened till I was looking from the inside and saw the know to open the lower part. After delivery we lowered the night shade and have not looked again.

Tried to call Newmar but service line is clogged up and no call back yet. I'm hoping we can get a mobil tech to fix it when we are in Colorado.

A picture would be worth a thousand words! The whole window, the lower part that may open? Not familiar with the egress window setup because we currently do not have an egress door. However, we have a 2020 DS on order, so would like to know.

It appears to be the whole thing. Not exactly sure how the upper hinge works, and I don't have a ladder. Looks like a couple of pins hold the top in.

I spent all day trying to contact Newmar service.

I called and waited on hold till I could not hold any longer. Then I left a call back number.

I filled out a web service request.
I sent an email to customerservice@newmarcorp.com

All of that got me nothing. Having spent many years of my life in service related IT, I can tell you I am not impressed with today's response... crickets

I don't think highly of ANY organization that hides behind a phone mail system.

We will try again tomorrow. I sure hope it doesn't rain.

Thank you for the pic and fast reply. I hope that Newmar follows through and contacts you to resolve this. Again, thank you for the info, it at least gives me points to inspect/watch for.

The window is designed to fall out if lifted all the way up, so you're not banging into it when escaping.

Curious if you travel with other windows open or the ceiling vents? Seems odd to have this happen. Good Luck with the repair.

I never travel with a window open. Actually we never opened this window. The door was demonstrated during our CPU in Nappanee and never touched since.

Don, I think you may be on to something with that. In looking at the mechanism. I think the lower arms somehow were disconnected and allowed it to flap up and release from the coach.

I will try that next time. Never did get a response from Newmar. I called Transwest and they are helping me.

You mean the emergency exit WINDOW I believe.

OP has an issue with the window in the emergency exit DOOR.

The window in the emergency door of our 2019 4018 detached from the opener very shortly after we bought it. There's a metal track that attaches to the bottom of the window pane and the opening arms slide in the track. The track has what appears to be some type of double sided sticky rubber that is intended to keep it in place but it had failed on ours. We didn't lose the window, fortunately. Newmar service suggested re-securing the track with Gorilla glue pending a service appointment. It seems to be holding so I may just leave it be.
