It may be time to replace the rubber. The mold spores maybe deeper in the pores of the rubber than your cleaner will penetrate.
I have had luck in removing mold from covers by soaking the rag in a water/bleach solution and leaving it on the cover for 24 to 48 hrs to allow the solution to soak in. Not sure if bleach and rubber are compatible.

The best solution is just good old fashioned soap & water frequently. Using any bleach on rubber is a sure way to degrade it faster. The bleach will get in the small cracks & crevices and dry out the rubber. Warm moist weather and mold are just natural. I also live in SW Florida and I just keep the rubber around all windows clean and in between I spray them with a hose just to rinse them anytime I water the flowers. The absolute best solution is of corse to replace it but if you can keep it clean then why not?

Florida and mold should be spelled the same.... when mine used to get embarassingly gross looking I used a rag and some acetone to clean it. It does not do the rubber any good at all, required an immediate focus of 303 or even Armour All to remoisturize the moulding and when it is at that stage it is time to be looking to replace it anyhow. But, if you have to have it clean and looking nice for a trip then the acetone worked for me !

Had a job done at Newmar last February 2010 and they reset the two windshields for $950 with a new rubber seal mount.
The new seal had to be dried after mounting and they applied heat lamps overnight.
My original rubber mount became torn in the bottom center so passenger side windshield dropped about 3/4" while in Florida.

Now that explains it! I purchased a 1999 Mountain Aire that has the mold problem and I found out that it had come from (you guessed it) Florida. Thanks for the tip about the acetone, I tried it today and it does work after trying everything under the sun and I put Armour All on it after cleaning. So easy once you know. Thanks, Jim
