Windshield Wipers

Has anyone replaced their windshield wipers with anything better than the OEM Newmar’s. Ours sounds like someone is dragging a 40 year old rubber tire over the glass.

I replaced my wiper blades with the Bosch Icon and I'm thoroughly happy with them.

I also went with a 28 inch blade as opposed to the original 32 inch blade and it sweeps the drivers field of vision just as well.

I also like the Bosch because it has a secondary hood that latches down over the attachment point so it is securely affixed to the wiper arm.

I really like your description.....I ran ours the other day, a rarity in California. Pretty much sounded as you described. Got better after they ran for awhile.

Changed ours out from the original 35" to 32" from the RV Shop. Same wide mount , shorter length so they don't look like a couple of stork wings flopping back and forth.

What coach do you have? I I have a 2016 Bay Star and it seems the wiper arm hooks are wider than standard automotive ones. I’d love to put a set of icons on mine.

Also looking into it...was following this thread... I have 36 inch wipers and not sure I want to go down to 28...may consider 32. Just need to make sure they will fit...

How do the replacement wipers handle the washer fluid?
Do they have integrated connections to the output nozzles?
Thanks!

I am not sure how the Newmar wipers are, but on my Fleetwood the wiper fluid discharge is not on the wiper blade itself, but on the arm.

So, changing the blade has no bearing on the wiper fluid discharge pattern.

The problem with most replacement blades is their stiffness -- they don't conform properly to the curved glass. When we took delivery of our used KSDP last year, the mechanic that did the PDI said the wipers weren't aligned properly and needed shims.

But then a more senior mechanic in the shop told him that no, everything was fine -- except for the blades themselves. They weren't flexible enough for our single-piece curved windshield. And he pointed my mechanic at Wiper Technology brand blades--same length as original, but more flexible.

My coach came with 32" blades -- and the new Wiper Technology blades are also 32". The part number for my blades was "WT1-32 Contour." The RV shop charged me $40.50 each, but I've seen them online for around $25.00.

I've also seen WT1-32 Contour blades with a different name than "Contour." I think they're the same.

I have the Bosch blades on my pickup and on our Chinook RV and love them. But for the Newmar, the Wiper Technology blades do the trick.
