Winegard Rayzar Mount

Just watched a YouTube video by David Bott. Winegard now has an aluminum mount for Rayzar that raises it up equal to what looks like even with top of dish cover. Checked website did not see anything listed. Video was dated September 2018 so truly new product.

Looks like this might help reception issues.

Travel Safe,

Something certainly needs to be done to improve the reception on these.

I watched that yesterday and also thought that would be a great idea to add. Not knowing how a signal comes in, it would make sense if it is best with a line of view and the antenna is above the rails. I will certainly look into it though.

I have the antenna. Mounted to the roof per standard mount. Has failed and been replaced, under warranty. Both orginal and replacement work intermittantly - errors, reset, and continue. Reception is good.

Wish I would have just installed a fixed omnidirectional antenna... will do so when this one dies.

I have one and when it works itís great. But for the last couple of months it has been a PIA. Spent $160 for a new control board. Still not right?

I mounted mine like this. I receive 36 channels 70 miles away in Dallas and 10 channels 24 miles away. With it down I only get 12 channels.

I originally mounted mine on 4" aluminum channel to raise it higher, but it really didn't help in certain situations, so I fabricated a plate from an old road sign and mounted it on the original crank up mast like redcolorado, but shortened the arms so it just clears line of sight from the surrounding items when up. Usually works fine when down but has the ability to rise if needed.

I like the reuse of the road sign. I have also installed a Alpha Camp Pro WIFI extender antenna and a directional MIMO cell antenna to that crank up mount since the photo was taken.

When Hurricane Charlie came through here and I was still working for the city, we had a lot of "scrap" signs. I've been using parts of a larger one ever since. Used it to fab the lower "dust storm" fan shield too.

I contacted David Bott about the mount. He replied that the info is on the video. Went and searched the video and found the info. You have to call Winegard to order that mount.

Hi - Wrote to Winegard and asked if the part was available and if it would be sent as a "good will" to complete the installation that Newmar did on the coach. They responded

"That part is an optional accessory, it is not provided at no cost. The part number for that item is MT-7500, cost is $50.00. Please call our Customer Support team at 800-288-8094 to place an order. Its mounting is not the same as the original mounting holes. Thank you, Winegard Customer Support"

That's some special aluminum!

Just called Wingard re this platform. Yes it is available. Yes it is $50. Yes the only shipping option (FedEx) from Iowa to California is $54!
I did not order. That borders on ridiculous. They say it weighs 11 pounds!

Hi - That's interesting as the entire antenna only weighs 4.5 pounds. I agree that it's a no go.
