I winterized for the first time today, our new 01 Dutch Star 3368. I had put in a by pass on my pump for the pink stuff and followed the itemized list of all fixtures and drains which went very smooth but I have two drain lines just behind water tank between bumper that come up into rear closet with valves in them , but since I have no info showing there use I wasn't able to get any pink stuff to run from them after trying all combinations opened and closed.I belive they may be the tank drain as one did run a small amount of water out but no pink stuff even though I put about a 1/2 gal in the freshwater tank I was thinking the other may be a vent hose for the tank.I realy would like to figure a way to see the pink stuff dripping out of them. HELP HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Mike, There should be a by-pass on your hot water heater. By-pass it and then drain the hot water tank by removing the plug that incorporates the sacricial material to prevent tank corrosion. Don't put antifreeze in the hot water tank. Also try not to put antifreeze in the main water tank, just drain it, as it will take you forever to get rid of the antifreeze when in use next year. The suction line from the antifreeze bottle should be on the suction side of your pump in place of the tank feed line. Run each tap, both the hot and the cold until you see the pink stuff coming out. (Note the hot is by-passed but still requires that the lines are flushed with antifreeze. Don't forget the shower, washer or washer taps and the outside shower, if so equipped. And don't forget the head.
Now, pour some antifreeze down each drain to increase the antifreeze level in the drain traps. (Don't forget the shower drain)
During the above I would open the grey water valve, if empty, to allow the water from the lines to run out.

Now, come spring, hook up your water. Do not fill your tank yet. Set up and operate like you are on city water only. Run all taps until all bubbly antifreeze is gone. Now fill tank and you are all set.

Peter

Mike, could those lines have been for a washer/dryer combination?
If you have RV anti-freeze in all of the other lines and you ran your faucets open until the pink stuff came out, you should be "OK". Ed.S
P.S. Leave your kitchen, bathroom, shower faucets open.

My DS does not have any location where a washer could go so I no they are not from that.If I opened all low point drains and also pumped all water from FW tank I think there can't be any water left in the lines.I have pink coming out of all lines and all drains filled.
