Winterizing

I have always used the pink stuff when winterizing the Moho, however I know that many blow the lines out with air. We live in southwest MO and will be taking the Moho to Gulf Shores over Thanksgiving, back home till after Christmas then to FL for Jan. and Feb. I hate always messing with the anti freeze. I just blew out all the lines with air this time, 40-45 psi.

I hooked the air line up to the city water connection and blew all the lines out. My concern is with the water pump. Without pulling anti freeze into the water pump, how do you take care of it? There is no drain on the pump itself (at least none I see) and I'm not sure if there is anything I can do to run the air through it. When you are hooked up to city water, does the water run through the water pump even when its turned off? If it does then I guess I'm covered, if not then ???

I know I'll get my answers here. Thanks in advance.
Dean

Hooked up to city water it does not run through pump.
Water from fresh water tank is only water through pump.
If your traveling and your heater is on you will not need to worry your tank compartments and water pump will be heated.
Look at #5 Driving in winter weather.
Was at Newmar in Jan 2010, 1* with water in tank, than traveled to FL. and had no problems even when we had to go back to Newmar in Feb. The furnace worked flawlessly even when dry camping at the Cracker Barrels overnight.

No we are not driving. Just wanting to winterize it in between trips just incase we get a cold snap.

So, for those who winterize with air vs anti freeze, what do you do about the water pump?

Disconnect inlet and outlet to pump, run pump until no more water comes out, reconnect lines.
