my new unit has a full house filter in the sewer/hose bay...same exact filter as my old fifth wheel. I usually changed the filter cartridge( in the past on my 5th wheels) once a year when I sanitized and got ready to go. Living in Tucson...my winterizing was as simple as draining everything.....and nothing else.

With my new unit ...seems like it is more complex...and I had better do the antifreeze thing. Can I leave the cartridge in the filter housing as long as I remember to replace it when I drain/flush the antireeze?

Also...with OASIS HYDRONIC HEAT..i don't have a heater to drain...or do I ? Was assuming the low point drains would take care of that?

Hopefully I will use the unit this winter and won't have to winterize...but I had better know how.....

THANKS.

Jay, in Quick Tips there is information links on winterizing.
You can leave the filter in housing after you drain of water. You will use less pink stuff with filter displacement.
Just as you said replace after sanitizing in spring.
Your heating system fluids I believe has a antifreeze in it now and when you put in anti in water system should take care of water system through the heater.
You should be able to use your water pump to pump anti through out your water system, mine has a short hose that is placed in large bucket with the anti freeze.

If Oasis is like AquaHot (ask/search at www.rvhydronicheaterrepair.com - your end all source for ALL hydronic heater questions/issues) you MUST, MUST, MUST pink up the furnace domestic water lines and not just blow or drain. The Oasis registers and all are already running antifreeze.

I tried that website..did not specifically mention OASIS. So..are u sure that the low point drains do not drain the domestic water out of the system. Our cold weather in Tucson is fairly mild and brief. Was hoping to avoid the pink stuff! Thanks.

If you want to do it the easy way. First blow out all lines and faucets. I get a 5 gal bucket and drop clear bypass line in filled with Pink anti. I hook my make up water line to the hose bib on my water panel and then turn pump on. run all faucets until pink and throw some down the drains for safty. I use 10 gallons for an Essex including the washer. This pinks up everything from the water hookup on in. No guessing if you got it all. The only thing I don't pink up is the Icemaker and the in door water. I drain them both from the back and leave open in a sandwich bag.

Also think about it. The low point drain valves are higher than where your Hydro-Oasis boiler sits..

On that website send Roger an eamil or make a forum posting or search that forum. He does plenty of Oasis.

Perry has it right especially the NOT pinking the ice maker/refer water (Norcold will confirm all you need is to drain the two lines (ice maker and fresh water at the Norcold water solenoid behind the refer and sandwich bag the open lines until spring.

On wash machine make sure to use the warm water setting to pink both lines. The issue with EX is the Manabloc plumbing - every hot and every cold faucet has a *separate* line running from the water bay. Each of these lines needs to be pinked. Once you see pink at all the hot faucets, the furnace (either Aquahot ot Oasis) will automatically be pinked up. Don't forget to run a rinse cycle on the dishwasher. This will ensure the line and the drain pump are pinked.

litespeed the pink stuff is allot cheaper than replacing the plumbing parts in your DSDP.
Your toilet valves will appreciate you.

When you run "pink" through the washing machine be sure that the "hot" liine gets pink fluid in it. The Splendide does not start by running hot water even when set to hot -- a small amount of cold water is run first. You can shut off the cold water valve at the back of the machine and wait for the hot water to run. Look across the top of the machine for the water lines and check for pink fluid in both lines.
