Well the Rain season has begun and Our New to Us DSDP has lived in the South sunny climate all her life, so the wiper blades were really shot! Easy enough to replace them since they are a standard Trico Assembly.
The problem is the Drivers side Wiper travels too far and the bottom of the blade smacks the DS Mirror Support Arm. I have tried both stock holes , in both directions and have even drilled a 3rd position to mount the Blade. It still Smacks the Mirror Arm.
Is there some adjustment under the hood that I am missing ?
The return to Center is perfect, It just travels too far to the side!
Any Ideas?

I have had that and every other problem you can have with the Newmar wipers on one piece windshields. Said before and will say again, learn how to drive with out them. I do not believe they will ever work properly and if they do it will not be for very long. Mine have been worked on by very good and experienced mechs / techs numerous times. I still plan to take it back to Indiana and let them try again, but do not have much hope. Good Luck

Most if not all of us with the one piece windshield have wiper problems.
This is one area that I'm extremely disappointed in Newmar.
The factory has worked on my wipers 5 or 6 times, maybe more, and after replacing parts, and making adjustments, they still don't work right.
IMHO, the design is too light for the job required.
The Newmar techs have been great attempting to make them work right, but they can only do so much with what they have to work with.
I'm 2 years out of warranty and Newmar is still working on them as "goodwill", as they should.

I Have and it all seems pretty tight, nothing flopping around. Is there any kind of adjustment to reduce the throw? I may have to contact Newmar on this .

Hi Rob,
The only thing I know you can do to shorten the travel is to make another hole in the cam that is fastened to the WW motor or the bolt that holds the wiper arm or where ever your cam(s) are located. I do not know if you have the material to do this, but when one looks at what determines the WW throw, it is the cam(s).
If you try this, be careful to allow for clearance of the arm that the cam(s) move. At some point in the cycle it must pass over the center fastener that holds the cam in place.

Where on the wiper arm/blade is it hitting the mirror? I am assuming the very bottom, but how far from the tip?

I Can't say for sure , but it hits really hard and has made some pretty good Dings in the Top of the Mirror Arm, of course the Paint has been Flaking Off as well! I will keep Trying to Adjust the Height but right now it is Raining so Hard I can't get at it!

Found the Problem! The Knurled Wiper Driver is stripped on the Shaft. They are just an insert that should sell for under a Buck! The problem is finding someone who actually has them in stock. Typical Story of course, they just want to sell the entire Wiper assembly, or It will take a while to get that for You !
I am visiting the Local School District Service Dept on Monday to see if They have any spare parts!
If necessary I will Cobble something together that will work for now!

RobRV,
I have had success drilling a small hole through the part, and the shaft, and then tapping (with a small hammer) a hardened, split, roll pin into the hole.
I use a 3/32" drill bit and a 3/32" roll pin (.09375"). The roll pin is slightly larger than the hole and will hold the knurled knob firmly in place. You can buy them at any good hardware store or Lowes (mabye 25 cents at the most). It can be trimmed once installed with a small Dremel grinder/sander tool. It can be easily removed with a small "drift pin" of the same size.
I have done this recently on a 2 cycle lawn/leaf blower to secure the fly wheel to the crank shaft. It rotates at a high RPM. The cast aluminum key used on the aluminum fly wheel was sheared off and the cost of a new flywheel, with shipping, was about the same as I paid for the whole "factory rebuilt" blower to start with. It now runs better than it had from the first startup.
Good luck,

The problem will be solved , likely by drilling and using a Roll Pin as Max has suggested.
Because we live in such a small place and because I totally forgot about the wiper for the past Month ( Duh) I can't get one shipped before we head south for the winter.
If I can't Beg or Borrow or Buy One on Monday I will drill and Pin the sucker!
Thanks for All the Help and Ideas!
Have a Merry Christmas Everyone!

Yes I believe drilling a stop(or a set screw), is the best option a shop once quoted to get a new knurled shaft/arm is well over $300 in parts. The repair is easy enough using a set screw as described below... probably less than $15 in parts maybe end up being more if you shop like I do at the hardware store, seems I always need a new tool.
