Wiring for AGS

I have a 2007 DSDP 4307 with a Xantrex Inverter and it is equipped with and autostart remote. I also have an Onan HDKAJ 7.5KW generator. The autostart function does not engage the generator and I suspect I need to run the required wiring from the inverter to the generator.

I think I need to buy a y-adapter for the genset in order to make this connection. Has anyone done this that could give me some suggestions?
