Wiring harness to replace Sony Stereo in 2005

I've done some searches so I apologize if this is a redundant question, but I have had no luck. We want to replace that crappy Sony stereo in the console of our 2005 Scottsdale with a more modern Bluetooth set up. Trying to figure out if we need to purchase a specific wiring harness and if I do...do I search WH22 chassis information? If I got another Sony would we be OK? Was looking at some Pioneer models.

I'm sure others have replace theirs. Any insight appreciated.

I replaced my Pioneer AVIC N3 with a Kenwood KVT-7012BT (both are single DIN, with flip out screens).

My recommendation is to not buy any wiring harness and simply splice the new stereo wires into the existing harness. A search on your existing stereo and the new one will allow you to map the wires and connect appropriately - there is a colour code standard that is generally followed for all stereos.

If this is not something you are comfortable with doing, any reputable stereo shop will certainly do it for a fee....

There may not necessarily be a harness available, but the place to check is Best Buy. Go to their installation area and they will have a wall of harnesses. Other radio installation shops should also have them.

Wiring

In the past I have had great results with wiring harness adapters from
crutchfield.com . Usually comes with good printed directions and all parts needed for conversion. I have not started to replace the in dash Sony on my 2005 Newmar but it is on my upcoming jobs list.

I had the Stereo/Navigation replaced on my 07 MA. I did take it to a reputable Stereo shop. They did a great job.

Thanks for the responses. We did think about just cutting and splicing so it's a possibility.

We tried Crutchfield and we are not sure what to look for since it's not on their "automobile" list. I suppose I could call them and see if they can be any help (but not optimistic ).
