It probably is Corian and whoever said it was some Newmar concoction is probably wrong. I recently got an estimate to change from dual sink bowl to single and corian was mentioned on the estimate, sadly it was a fortune, most of which was the corian. Anyways, I digress, last night I did research on correcting my issue and the recommendation was soft scrub. Everyone's going oooooh, huuuuhhhh, i.e. worried about abrasion. Well, it actually did pretty good. I tried one area.

I ordered the stuff from TJ's amazon link, actually at the bottom there were three things suggested so I got all 3 on the way. I hate hardwood floors (in my S&B) and now this corian counter, I'm terrible at cleaning products. I'm tempted to take my buffer and polish the counters with some type of wax but I'll refrain knowing I do a great job screwing things up.

Thanks for the help all, valuable information being shared and I appreciate it.

I actually had to hand polish some additional pieces I added and they came out great, you would be surprised at what you can accomplish doing a little hand polishing. The problem with a buffer is splatter of the compound, you would need to do some covering and masking. The other thing that can happen with a buffer is burning if your not careful, just need to keep it moving. And of course the shinier you get it the more the new scratch’s will show. That Perfect company makes good stuff.

Solid surface means the material goes all the way thru. You could polish it until it’s 1/8 “ thick if you want. Soft cleaners to clean, most any soft polish to polish out major scratches. Soft scrub has a fine polish , that’s what you want to restore finish.

The cabinet maker that installed the solid counter tops in our house said to cut and sand like wood and to polish like a car. Good advice

Exactly.
Swirl remover works very well.
Very fine wet & dry sandpaper 1200 - 1600 for derp scratches.
Most buff out with swirl remover or rubbing compound.
A dual action polisher avoids the burning danger or a rotary polisher.
You can try it by hand on a small spot to see the results but DA polisher and a foam pad works wonders... same for auto or MH paint / clear coat finishes.
If you want to experiment to get the technique down take the sink cover outside and give it a try.
Start w the least agressive and go moee agressive only if / where reqd.

Clorox wipes, then a clean towel to wipe up residue.

Neal.....I've actually hit mine with a buffer before, but it doesn't really last, so I gave up. I'm more anal about making the refer shine and eliminating streaks on the SS.

Ahhh Pop Tarts....just another thing you have to cut out when you get older and fatter like me. My daughters do keep them at their houses, so when I go over to do an odd job on occasion.....I sneak one. Brown sugar cinnamon.....

I’d like to get the buildup/residue off them maybe seal with some type of wax. I have to research corian, never had it, I have granite at home which requires sealing as you know. I just want a layer of protection but I realize the scratches etc will need to be buffed out at some future time.

Am I the only one sitting at the campfire with marshmallow pop tarts on the end of a stake?

Windex is not recommended for corian I read. It causes problems with the finish. I even tried my favorite granite cleaner and it didn’t help. I need to get it back to the beginning and start over using corian specific cleaner.

The end of that video has that person's formula for different levels of gloss.

Smores pop-tarts....oohhhh...sounds decadent.

We occaisionally make a S'mores pizza on our Uuni Pizza Oven.
