Would you order a Dutch Star without heated floors?

We live in So Cal and have ordered a 2018 DS, my initial thought was we don't do much cold weather camping and $5,000 is a lot of money. I still have time to change and am wondering if not having it would substantially effect resale down the line. Thoughts much appreciated, thanks Stuart

The heated floors are one of the best features in our Dutch Star. Will never own another coach without it.

Just my opinion, but when you get to a coach of that level, if you don't opt for the heated floors that would be a big negative when you go to sell/trade as most coaches at that price point will have it..

Have had two DSDP's no heated floors in either of them. Present CC has them. If I were ordering another MH it would have heated floors.

Order them if you want them and think you will enjoy them.
However, will it affect resale? No ... that's way down on the list of things people "have to have" when purchasing used. Will you get your $5k back ... not even close.

My current coach does not have heated floors but the next one will. And it WOULD cause me to pass on one that didn't have them.

Additionally, even in SoCal, it does hit 50 at night and those heated floors are all you will need. I submit you WILL use them. Even if it's 70 degrees in the morning, your tootsies will love you for it when you first pop out of bed.

You've heard from some who have heated floors and yes, the ones I have talked with that I have met on the road who ordered heated floors love them. But I think this is a decision based on how YOU will be using your coach. For us, we didn't order heated floors because we knew we weren't going to be using the MH when its cold. We use our MH for long trips and are always traveling in the spring, summer and fall, therefore, no need for heated floors. Its a high cost option that for us, we simply couldn't justify the expenditure.

I'm not really sure if having heated floors or not is going to impact the ability to sell or trade in the future. Some, who are more knowledgeable and experienced in trading than me, can chime in, but what I understand is that when trading, the dealer will only offer what the base coach value is; options are not included. I find that difficult to swallow but that's what I have been told. I hope I have been misinformed.

We love our DS and enjoy our travels.......Life is too short to worry about things we can't control and because of that I try very hard not to worry about things outside my control. And worrying about who may buy my coach in the future and whether or not they will require heated floors is something I spend zero time worrying about. Who knows, the buyer may be someone like me who doesn't want or need them.

So, I suggest ordering your coach they way YOU want it and enjoy the RV life style. You will meet some of the nicest people in your travels.

Allen

We live in FL and ordered heated floors. As others have said once you have them you'll never get another without. We love ours!

Our DS was purchased from a dealer inventory and had the heated floors. As we were purchasing the mh, I mentioned to my wife that I thought it was a silly waste of $6k. After owning the coach for a few months I wouldn't be without the heated floors.....wonderful $6k!

The DSDP is a highline coach, it will be expected come resale time.
