G'morning Newmar Gang! Just having morning coffee with ya'll here on the iRV2 site and as we're scheduled in at Newmar (Nappanee) on 9/22 was wondering if any of you know whether Newmar has a set of scales at or around Camp Newmar for weighing our rig. We need a full four corner weighing and have yet to find a good place to obtain this. If not at the Newmar plant, any other suggestion in the Nappanee area? Thanks. Steve & Lynette

I can't help you with the 4-corner weights in Nappanee, but if might be reason to attend the iRV2 National Rally in Ohio next year.

There will be 4-corner rig weighing offered at no charge for all attendees.

Have fun and get your four corner weights all att he same time

Newmar has them, just ask. I'll bet they'll weigh your EX as a customer good will. Anyway, the cost of fuel to go elsewhere will certainly be more than any fee if they do charge.

Newmar has always claimed the weights shown on the RIVA label are determined by weighing each coach after it is completed. Therefore, I assume they do have a scale. I would like to think they will accomodate your request to visit their scale, especially since you are High-Line with an 08 Essex. Please come back and post your experiences at Camp Newmar. ED

Newmar has scales to weigh by wheel position and they have weighed mine. Just ask and they will weigh it and give you a "weigh ticket" with the wheel positions.

Just a follow up as promised....YUP, Newmar, here at Nappanee, DOES have a 6 point (front wheels/duals/tags) scale. It's a great service!! Whether it's because we drive an ESSEX, or it's due to the tough times causing Newmar to optimize income...whichever...they DID charge us to have the rig weighed, BUT, it was still worth having a valid and thorough weight ticket for our rig. I asked the Spartan folks at Newmar to weigh mine and they did it free. They said they could use the scales during lunch time or after 2:30 when Newmar shut down.

I know it was not my "good looks" - maybe it was my charm.

Actually, I saw a guy walking across the parking lot that had done service for me before and I asked him if he could weigh my motorhome. He picked it up during lunch and brought it back with the weight printout showing the weights by wheel position. I don't think Newmar knew he weighed it.
