Mine is burned out and I was trying to remove the amber cover to check the bulb...kept on screwing for ever but no sign of unscrewing....it there a trick? It's tough to see up that close when I'm on my back

Mine is just a side marker type light and pops right off.

If you can grip it just pull down on lens. There is a ring on base mounting inside lens you could also use a thin blade screwdriver to pop it off.
