Yep another Coach to ask about....LOL

Momma keeps finding me coaches to ask about. So as long as you good people keep giving information I guess I will keep asking....LOL

One thing we HAVE decided through all of this, we want to stay with Newmar.

So, any issues with an 08 MA 4523? I have searched on here and didn't find much info really. I do like that it has the Oasis 50K BTU as opossed to the Hydro Hot 42K (I think)

How is the K2 Chasis, I assume pretty good, but compared to the MM?

How is the ISM 450, and how compared to the ISL 400?

Is the CD system adj on the 08's is still single setting?

What I was really surprised about when I compared my current 4304 on the MM chasis to the 08 4523 on the K2 was that the CCC capacity was only 6018LBS on the K2 and 11,870LBS on my MM (according to the Newmar brochures and specs).

Thanks in advance once again for any assistance you all can give.

Hi Mrchips,
The 08 brochure does not mention adjustable CD. The 09 brochure does mention CD is adjustable. This tells me the 08 does not have adjustable CD. I can not help you with the other questions.

Yes, it is the non-adj CD system I found out. I am not sure when the variable setting CD system was implemented. This coach build date was 8/17/07.

Wow, I think this is a first. Not a single reply concerning the coach, chasis, engine or comfort drive...LOL

Oh well, maybe I have exceeded my question limit for the month.......:-)

Not necessarily.
I would not be to concerned about no comments, may mean very few problems for 2008 MA.
Last time I looked there were no recalls for that year and this post in a search was the only one of substance.
There are other posts just do a search in forum on main page to get the others.
With the other inquires you have made on other coach's those answers would apply to this coach.

Yea not too concerned. I have found virtually nothing about the 2008 Mountain Aire's which to me is a good thing.

I was more interested in opinions on the K2 Chasis versus the MM chasis and how the ISM 450 was compared to the ISL400. I know the K2 and the ISM has the 4000 tranny and the ISL400 has the 3000, so that is a plus I think. Anyway, we found the coach we think we are going to.

Adjustable Comfort Drive started with the '09 models.

CorporateMonkey's parents had an '08 Mountain Aire. If you do a search and find all his posts, you might find out more info.

Chief -either engine/chassis combination will be great. We had a 43 ft tag axle Dutchstar with 400 HP ISL on a MM chassis. Now we have a 45 ft Essex on a K2 with a 500 HP ISM. Not sure I can say which is better. 400 horses (and associated torque) got us up some huge hills (11,000 ft Loveland pass in Colorado) without any problem. Same for the 500 horse ISM.

I do like the Oasis better than Hydro hot/Aqua hot. Oasis burns much cleaner and doesn't stink up the place, and I think it's a bit quieter.

Good luck.

I was wrong. Their coach was an '07.
