In the spirit of sharing, what is your favorite modification you have made or had done to you Newmar product??

Ours is possibly the 240 volt baseboard electric heat. It will keep us warm down to about 35 degrees depending on wind.

Jerry,

How is your baseboard heater connected to 240v?

my 1996 kountrystar came with no slideout for storage compartments. i hent to antigo, wi and had the full width slideout installed that will slideout either side of the motorhome. that has saved time and my back many times.

At this point (only had the coach 4 weeks) the Carefree power sunshades are the best mod we have made. They work great and are sooooo easy to use.

For Dirk and others. Remember that all 50 amp services to an RV supply 120/240 volts to the RV, just like a house. Installing a 2 pole breaker in the panel gives you the ability to add any 240 volt appliance like baseboard heat, 240 volt dryer or cook top.

An all electric MH may have 240 volt appliances. It will have no propane.

We have a 2001 DSDP and I did not like the 27" TV that came with it. I installed a 24" Sony Wega and a DVD player instead. I also installed a Sony reciever and surround sound speakers that are seperate from the radio system. Much better that the original system offered.

Jack H...your post is old, but hopefully you get this. How did yu do the surround sound system....Wiring to the rear, etc...I have a 2000 DSDP..and want to replace the front TV and put in surround sound as well. I want it clean of course. I wanted to install a flat panel, but I am not thining that will work...so a Tube TV will have to do...

Any help would be appreciated.

Phil

Wow....an oldie but goodie topic.

My favorite mod in the Essex was the addition of a 7" monitor to the dash surface over in line with the left support pillar, where I moved ALL of my cameras.
In the Essex the camera was split nav/cam in the dash unit and I was not comfortable with the head turn to the right and down that was necessary to view this image.
By taking the video out of the nav/radio I also was able to use the nav as an uninterrupted full screen.

Something else that my new LADB has that the EXDP does not have is the subject of member "cwg's" favorite modification....a DOOR BELL!

My LADB even has a camera at that location and the ability to unlock the coach door to allow entry, but that's a stretch.

Probably the TV(#5)/computer center/work center in the garage. Provides a whole new concept to Class A coaches.

My 05 KSDP came with the top kitchen drawer being only about 2/3 wide on the inside.I checked for clearence toward the sink---there was plenty. So I carefully took the drawer apart, kept the side pieces and made new inside front and back pieces and a new bottom board and put it all back together with scews and carpenters glue. Also had to make a new back brace to mount the left guide rail. I enlarged the front opening by finding and removing the inside angled screws and the piece came right out. This mode has earned me a lot of browny points with the Mrs.

My absolute possitively favorite modifiaction was installation of the Howard Steering system and Roadmaster (used to be IPD) rear anti sway bar. These made the coach solid as a rock in all driving situations. What cross winds?
