Am in my 5th week of ownership of a 2006 Dutch Star with smart EMS etc., 2 AC with thermopumps
Zone 2 AC (bedroom) seems to work when it desires !!! I set it up the same as the Zone 1 which works fine but it starts when it wants, often at the end of the afternoon ???? It will or will not start on Auto, and at times on Fan High it will start blowing cool air ???
Thanks-newbie

I assume you have the DuoTherm heat pumps with the 5 button control.
If you're on 50A, the Intellitec EMS may be malfunctioning. It can turn off the compressor so only the fan will run.
Otherwise, I'd suspect the A/C unit or the remote sensor. Our heat pumps zone 1 sensor is not well calibrated, it is about 3 degrees low, for example, when set to 85 it cools to 82 degrees. Maybe your rear sensor is intermittent or not well calibrated.
Here is a manual for the comfort control that has some troubleshooting info, also here is a manual that should cover your heat pumps.
Good luck!

Glad you are getting closer to figuring it out!
Here is a link to an Intellitec EMS. It has some troubleshooting info and a good description of how it is supposed to work. Intellitec has manuals for other Smart EMS's just in case I guessed wrong on your model:
Service Manuals

If it fails again, you can try a system reset. #16 here.

Thanks to you all for the help, litterature, manuals etc....
My wife told me yesterday there was a tape on hte rear temp sensor in the bedroom and removed it.......I put a scotch tape back on it and it appears the sensor is the culprit -do not know if I can service it in some way or replace it ???

The temperature sensor and wire is a one piece unit and the whole thing would have to be replaced. It could be difficult to run and fish a new one.
I learned this when the factory replaced mine.
It goes directly to the rear air conditioner.
I believe it can be tested with an ohm meter for the specified resistance, which I don't recall.

No. It needs free air flow.
