Question 12 volt add on

I am in the process of adding a Brakemaster system to my 2006 Limited coach. I had the system on my 2005 but not my 2006 so I am adding what Roadmaster calls their Second Motorhome Kit which will work with my previously wired tow vehicle. Everything has been going smoothly until I needed to install an electrical line to the 'hot' side of any fuse that is only hot when the ignition is tuned on. I have the Vansco system and I can't find a fuse box. Does anyone have a suggestion how I can hook this up. The to be installed wire has an inline 10 amp fuse.

You can connect directly to the ignition or accessory lead under the dash coming off the steering column if you have to.

Very easy to do... You just have to know how to find it.

I checked on the switch in the forum (Intermediate ignition switch) and discovered that the Acc and Ignition wires are all hot. The switch is ground activated. When switched to Start or ACC it grounds the system which completes the circuit. So, I can't tie in there because the wire would always be hot.

For an 06 you need a hot wire that is fed off the output side of the Vansco VMM. Behind the kick panel ahead of the passenger's feed, at the bottom behind the carpet strip, you'll find a 7-pin stud strip. Tone the studs w/KeyON/KeyOFF/etc. as needed. One of those should fill the bill. IIWMI'd take power off the fat red stud with an in-line fuse, and signal for a relay off the 7-pin stud of choice, ground wherever for relay coil, to power your new circuit; this way you have no risk of over-amping the 7-pin stud of choice.

2006 (2004+ actually) Alpine ignition switch is on the Input side of VMM, and cannot accept additional load or you will face an expensive replacement of the VMM due to burning out the circuit or a really lengthy work around still costing a helluvalotta dinero (even if you only add the coil load for a relay to a VMM input, trust me). wa8xym is correct on his rig, but not on the Alpine.

I like the way you would do it. I understand connecting to the big fat red stud and having an inline fuse. I am lost. When you say "signal for a relay off the seven pin stud strip" I am lost.
If you are talking about the strip beneath the Bansco box.
If so, the second and third wire and stud receive power when the ignition is turned on. However, when I turn the ignition off, the second wire remains charged with .15 and the third wire and stud stay charged with 1.15. Refer attached Click image for larger version

Thanks for the response Mike. One last question, I know I need an inline fuse on the red power line, after the relay but do I need an inline fuse between the second stud Ignition hot wire, and the relay?
