1998 Alpine coach kwikee step power fuses
I have done some searching on the forum, I have the schematics, I found the fuse panels on the passenger side, checked the battery compartment, have disconnected the step wiring, have no 12 volts from the coach on the red wire which as I read it goes directly to battery source. any help with where the fuse may be. wiring suggests that it would be in line.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would guess you have a similar wiring diagram to the link below:
Quikee Step Wiring Diagram
My fuses are mounted in two primary places. The chassis fuses are in a forward basement compartment just below the driver's feet. The house fuses are in a separate compartment adjacent to the transfer switch and inverter.
Our Kwikee steps are powered by the house battery and the fuse is in the house fuse panel.
Yours may be different.

found two problems...power wire corroded into at the button connector going to the coach from the steps, and broken door switch, ordered door switch from NAPA, but at least steps work now. Still don't know where the fuses are, but I have power.

Dean, thanks for posting that link to the RVWEB page. That whole article has more info than I have ever seen on maintaining and repairing these steps.

Might check the roof/ceiling of the battery compartment. For some reason, WRV put fuses for things like drivers seat, frig, and steps there. Guess they didnt fit into the standard automotive wiring scheme when WRV first started building coaches.

Those battery compartment "fuses" are self re-setting thermal breakers so are seldom an issue.

door switch from NAPA finally came in, and I was able to replace my "jury rig" switch, but then found I still had to use the "quarter" trick to operate the switch, but I am thinking seriously about using a nickel, maybe even a washer, a quarter is a lot of money to use as a spacer, after replacing the splice that had corroded and broke, the steps now work correctly, I'll chase the fuses the next time
