2000 alpine 36mds (open engine) warning light
My (open engine) light on the dash just came on with a warning buzzer. does anyone have a clue what that light is telling me?
I have the owners manual but no reference to open engine that I can find.
Needing help!
Thanks.

2000 alpine 36mds (open engine) warning light
It means the engine access hatch is open. Look at the back of the coach, if the hatch is not open check the switch, if it is open close it..

You'll probably need to take the coach to a Cummins shop so they can download the trouble code causing this. Diesel Dave also has equipment to check the code. He's up in Quartzsite.

Not sure those items will yield the info you seek. Cummins may have a proprietary interface. I know WABCO does for the ABS. Good Luck.

You were correct! I now hope the appointment next week will shed some light on the open engine light and that constant alarm!

Well the appointment for the code reader was a bust. no codes!
On the way to the Cummins shop the light on the dash went off, so I still have no idea what (open engine) means. The owners manual shows all the light on the dash cluster except open engine.
Maybe next time it will show a code, it was on for about 3 weeks.
Thanks to all that had some input.

It's on again! open engine!
And I would love to send a screen shot, but my computer skills are not up to it.
I an not using a windows machine, I have a chromebook.
took it to the body shop this morning and on the way the light on the dash came on again.

Jim, we really need to see the picture. I am at the FMCA rally at Perry, GA. There are a dozen Alpines here including a 1999 and no one has ever seen an “open engine” light.
