What's a good price for one in excellent condition? I looked at NADA and it's priced about $7K over average retail.

The price that the two of you agree. Not really being a smart alec. To me, price would depend on condition and the "stuff" that is there. When looking at NADA, etc, there are so many additions to the coach that they do not take into account; from basic add-ons, to recently replaced wear items. If the price is close to what you want and the condition is there, buy it.

I know a fellow owner here in Arizona who sold his 2000 38' FDDS a few months ago for around 55K to 60K. It was in very good condition but did not have much in the way of upgrades. It still had the day-night pull down shades and the front curtains for example. Otherwise, it was clean (inside & outside) and fully operational.

Assuming you check EVERYTHING out functionally, the important items are tires & batteries which represent $1K to $5K of maintenance but easy to verify before purchase.

Thanks for the replies. I like the looks of the coach from three states away, but am having trouble getting motivated to actually check it out. I think that means I should continue to look local.

I purchased my Alpine about a year ago. I looked and study what I wanted and I could not afford what a high end cost. I found this deal on line about three states away. I had the dealer take his phone and talk to me on one phone and send pics on other. This coach had all I wanted, smart wheel, side radiator and heat pumps. Then I wanted two slides. They had a Blue light special and I jumped on it.Then for the money I saved, I purchased a five year full warranty no deductible. I still can make money if I sold her. You can ask Old Scout and others I have drove them nuts learning and asking. I took all I saw wrong and asked costs. The best thing I ever did. I kind of have touched everything on the coach. The best ride I have driven. I had a body man touch up the clear coat. I went nuts fixing the ABS system but its working. The key to a extended warranty is figure what's wrong first because they only pay for 2 or 3 hrs checking it out. We rented a car for one way trip and could change are minds anytime. It has been a lot of fun for us but if your not into a lot of fixing make sure you get the warranty or spend more money on a better Coach. In this area you don't see a lot of Alpine Coaches and dealers and venders who will work on Peak chassis.
