2003 Alpine Dash A/C

We just charged our A/C Freon system and mechanic found the hydraulic fan is not blowing. How do I find what to check to get the fan to work?
This is a 2003 Alpine with a 400 Cummins engine - 34'.
Help!!!

Do a search on "wax valve" on this forum -- about all you need to know about 03 dash a/c systems. HOWEVER--03 and earlier Alpines do not have an interface between the dash A/C's need for air flow across the condenser and the engine fan. There are a number of after market solutions that help to address this design issue. 1- is a electric solenoid fluid control valve for the fan motor control loop. 2- is adding electric fans to the outside of the radiator stack--if you have space. 3- move the condenser and add electric fans--my solution!!!! PM me if you want to discuss this off-line.....
PS--pretty sure your engine fan is keeping your engine cool so its the design issue mentioned above, not the fan motor itself.

Also source engineering has designed an oriface fitting that is put inline with wax valve hydraluic line that has fan run at approximately 350-400 rpm whenever engine is started to keep air flowing over a/c condenser. Does not effect engine cooling operations. I have installed on several alpines, very simple. Part costs about 40.00 and takes about 15-30 min to install

Because the fan does not turn at idle (coolant temperature low), if working on the A/C system, adding freon, etc, Use a hose to mist the condenser with a hose. It works.

While moving the condenser and/or adding electric fans is a potential major effort, the bottom line is that I have never liked the idea of relying on a 25 hp engine fan motor to perform the simple act of keeping air moving over the a/c condenser. After the re-design, my dash air now relies on two electric fans, controlled by the compressor clutch circuit, and has never worked better.
