Having owned one, I hate to say, yes, the Avalanche had some serious design deficiencies that lead to significant leaks in the coach as well as the storage bays, slides that were weak, particularly the bathroom slide, jacks in the wrong location, fuel tank without baffling and a few other less significant issues. Most of them were bought back by WRV either via the lemon law or other agreement (such as mine). Thus, there are still a handfull out there that did not have a reclamation title and available for trade or purchase. The person that ended up with mine may have a somewhat useable coach since mine spent most of the 2 years I owned it getting retrofitted and repaired at the factory! They never could fix the storage bay leaks, but most of the interior leaks were fixed along with the cabinets replaced with solid wood (came with veneer), the jacks being moved, the bathroom slide mechanism being redesigned and fixed and the overhead light fixture being rebuilt.
