A & E Awning motor

I would appreciate your help with a awning problem on my 2002 alpine. The documentation shows the awning was installed in 2005 on my 40 foot MH. Recently a problem has developed with the motor on the awning. When I activate the switch to extend or close the awning, all I hear is the motor trying to turn. It immediately stops. Reversing the switch momentarily gets the same clunking sound and then nothing. The awning dos not move.

The model number of the awning is 8158818.000s. I have been unable to find a part number for the motor. I noticed that the motor assembly appears to be riveted in place. How dos one remove the motor? Has anyone had this problem or have any suggestions?

To remove motor:

Support the awning tube with a step ladder,, After disconecting motor assembly from awning arm (Multiple ways to do that) and unplugging motor from harness drill out the 3 pop rivets, Pull straight out of tube.

in 2006 those motors were $400 dollars each.

How do I know this? Thankfully by observation, Had to help a fellow camper, His motor was under warranty, Did the emergency roll up as per owner's manual,, Called Rachel (RV service Technician) She told me the price.

Home is where I park it!
