A&E Power Pro ® Fabric Awning

went to extend the awning and it will not extend. I can here the motor running but will not extend. Any ideas?

Sounds like something is binding up. You could try operating the switch while someone is on a ladder giving it a tug and then lube the joints when it's deployed.

Janet and Todd, cant find anything binding the awning. the motor is turning but will not extend

Dennis,

I believe my manual, which I don't have with me at the moment, addresses manually storing a the awning in case of a power or motor failure. I don't know if it would be of any help in your case. It may have some info on how the motor drives the awning.

Have you unsnapped the snaps that hold the awning in the stowed position?

Janet and Todd, yes nothing s holding it. the motor turns but won extend like its not engaged or something

There is a pin that connects the motor to the awing shaft. That may have broken or sheared off.
You will have to remove the motor to repair.

Mine did that, and it was where the motor shaft connected to the three lobe gear went into the gear. The shaft had wallowed out the hole, and wouldn't turn the tube.

I have one stripped gear on the driver's side so it won't lift the wraparound side.
