A/C Shrouds

Anyone have a good line on A/C shrouds? On the roof today and noticed cracking in both shrouds.

I got a reasonably price aftermarket shroud from ppl motorhomes. RV Parts and Accessories for Sale
They did not have the gold OEM shroud to match the original but I went with off white instead. Fit well and was in stock for immediate delivery.

Just get the original Dometic shrouds (new style) from Camping World. See previous posts on this subject by doing a search on this forum.

These shrouds, even the new ones, are a pretty poor design with lots of stress around the front screw holes. It is also said Alpines create a lot of air turbulence coming off the front cap. Even it you decide on a new shroud[s], I recommend pop-riveting some metal strapping around the front screw holes.

Great idea Old Scout! Thanks! I think I'll do that.

I reinforced my already cracked screw holes by laminating more fiberglass to the underside. Even fiberglass patching will do. Though no one can see the shroud from below, it looks OEM. (Not to mention I don't own a rivet gun.)

If in doubt, add a 2' bungee cord across the shroud. It may not look the best but the shroud isn't coming off!!! After losing the shroud while driving 3 - tiimes, I NEED peace of mind (know wadamean?!). And, bungee cords do come in various colors.

Made some washers out of out of aluminum strap (1/8" X 3/4" X 1 1/2") and installed with gorilla glue, fixed our cracking issue. I placed washers under cowling and on the outside and used hex head sheet metal screws to secure. Very easy fix and should hold up for long time.

Got a few of the details wrong in my first post, but here are pics. I used aluminum strap that was a little to thick and it made it hard to get the shroud down into place to put the screws in as I remember. This can all be repaired on the ground and installed when the gorilla glue cures.
