Looks like this post just ended.
Where are the pictures?
What model Vizio did you use?
I'll looking into replacing my TV and was following this post until it just ended.
Please continue.

TJ, If you want any more, just ask. This was part of an earlier post. " Wolf. I used a Vizio E series # E40-C2."
If you choose this TV you can mount it on 1" sq. tubing mounted in front of the factory mounts, 2 spanning the width of the opening.
I was able to use the perforated metal guard around the lower rear of the TV to keep it looking original. Good luck, Ken

Dear Mocha,

I saw your article about installing a 40" Samsung Tv in your 04 Alpine Motor Coach.
I have a Alpine 05 36' FD that I am trying to install a Samsung 40" in my coach but
the opening is only 3l.5". Are you placing the tv on the face of the cabinets?
Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Thank you,

James Sinsel

Dear Mocha,

I saw your post about installing a 40" Samsung TV in your Alpine Motor Home.
I have a 36' FD Alpine. Did you have to modify the cabinets to make the
40"TV 36.5 Wide fit in the opening or is it installed against the face of the
cabinets. Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

James Sinsel

James, 36-3/4" wide is correct. The TV's are measured diagonally, thus 40" fits a 36" opening. Have fun with this one. Ken

James,

If you look at the first picture I posted you can see that the tv fits the opening perfectly between the cabinets. The other pictures show the way I mounted it since the original mounts were designed to attach on four corners. The new tvs have a center mount setup so I bolted cross members to the corner brackets to accommodate this.
