ABS Wheel Sensor

I need to find the part number for an ABS Sensor. I have the Bendix disk brakes on front and rear. I have searched the web to no avail. The only numbers I can find on the sensor are on the back of the sensor that has S+ then PRI 001. It is @ 5/8" in diameter and 1 5/8" in length. There are so many sensors out there that I haven't a clue which is the right one for me.

Thanks for any help,

Greg,

When I had my 2000 Alpine, I had to replace one of the abs sensors. I went to a local truck brake distributor that sells Bendix brake parts, and they had one on the shelf. It was few years back, but I thought it was about $30 back then.

You did not say what your problem is, if it burned up or just doesn't work. Sometimes if it just does not work, try pushing it firmly into the backing plate as sometimes it does not make contact.

IIRC when we did our complete brake job last year, we paid around $40 for the sensor, and that was through the repair shop. I'll look for the part number.

Thanks Dave,
It almost looks like most of the sensors are the same except for the length of the cable connection. The one you gave me R955365 is 4.6', a truck dealer I called gave me R955336 which looks identical but has a cable length of 3'.

Tom, I look forward to what your part number is.

BTW, I had an overheating brake that caused the sensor to melt.

Thanks to all!

My part number is R955336 same as above. $50.66 in July 2011. This was the left front sensor. Sorry it took so long for a response.

Finally found an old receipt from when I had bought one in the past and it was a R955336.

Thanks to all who answered.

Howdy, Looks like we have the same coach. In years past Bosch has been a highly respected name in the automotive industry, but I think alot of have lost a lot of respect with reference to our Alpine brakes. We also have a wheel sensor out, replaced master cylinder, completely lost brakes twice. The last time, they repaired themselves sitting in a parking lot. Think about that. Sure not much confidence when you head home through the mountains of VA and WVA. Other than that we love our Alpine.

Sure would like to get the blotchy looking spots out of the fiberglass exterior walls. Best wishes, old trucker
