We are heading to Athens Tues afternoon to M&G for a new towing brake system and then to Corsican Wed to check out Collins Street Bakeries and then down to Hillsboro for some shopping time at the Outlet! We are slowly working our way down to New Braunfelds!

Mythplace, your right we'd love to meet you, all it takes is a completed Membership
Application. You would have the time of your life at an ACA Rally and meet a wonderful group of people.

We are here at the Rally early, along w/10 other coaches. This campground is twice what we were promised, beautiful quiet location right on the Guadalupe River. We signed up for fly fishing lesson on Wed and are going to the oldest Dance Hall in Texas tomorrow night.

We finally made it to TX, and had dinner at the Big Texan in Amarillo...would you believe John ate the whole 72 oz steak to get it free! He's so cheap! OK, so I fibbed a bit...he couldn't even finish a 9 oz filet...

Anyway, we'll make our way down to Montgomery (a bit N of Houston) to visit with a childhood friend of John's and then on over to New Braunfels on Tuesday. Can't wait to see y'all!! And we'll say "Howdy" to you, too, Mike (mythplaced). I second Paul's comments...join ACA...a fabulous group of Alpiners!!!

The rally was wonderful. The New Braunfels area was very interesting and quaint. Jan and Dean did a wonderful job providing lots of free time to explore the area with an abundance of literature so you would know what was there. The Wurstfest was fun. The pride in the German heritage is second only to that of being a proud Texan. The food was excellent, especially the BBQ provided by the Lazy L & L Campground. We had to leave just to keep from gaining more weight!!! Another excellent job from volunteer rally hosts---way to go Jan and Dean Sandmire!

Now that all the dust has settled and life has gotten back to normal in south Texas, Jan and I would like to thank everyone who attended the 2010 Heritage Rally. We especially appreciate the fact that so many of our fellow ACA travellers made the long journey from the west coast to join us here in Texas. As challenging as hosting these events can become sometimes, the pay-off for us was seeing so many of our ACA family enjoy our local food, fun and heritage. Again, we thank everyone for sharing this experience with us and we hope many of you will come back and visit us. See you in Quartzite!!!

PS--If you haven't done so already, check out Louis' pictures from the Rally [see his seperate post].
