Engine driven "dashboard" A/C or the "House" A/C that cools the rear of the coach?

2003 alpine 40 ft diesel. It's the house ac with "comfort control"

At the comfort control thermostat turn the on off switch to on, it is on the bottom. You have 2 active zones . Zone 1 is the front and zone 2 is the rear. Push the zone button until the zone number you want is flashing. Use the mode button to select cool, use the the up down button to set the desired temp.

If you have the older 4 button unit you press FAN and MODE together to change zones.

On my 2001 it sometimes takes around 5 min. before it comes on.

There is a built in delay on one unit, usually 2 minutes, so that they do not come on together and overload the breaker with the surge current.

GO ... You've not identified your power source and since you're a new owner ... neither AC units will operate with just the Inverter .... both units should work with 50 amp service ... both units should work with the generator ... not sure about 30 amp service but atleast 1 - unit at a time should work ... and as Algoma stated there is a time delay after the power source is properly established ... the generator takes a while to take over the load but once it takes over there is a 2 - minute or so delay.

One last quirk. If zone one is on furnace mode, zone # two (bedroom area) will not come on. It's not necessary to ask how I learned this!

Also, the furnace will work on the 12v system; the generator does not need to be on, but the propane does need to be on.
