Does anyone know the correct Fleetguard part number for the air filter used in the 2000 Alpine with the 330hp engine? I ordered a Fleetguard AF25549 and it is much larger than what I have.

Well, I definately plan on measuring my filter (2000 330hp) this weekend.

However, as per the Cummins Filtration - Filter Listing by Dimension the 2 filters have the following dimensions:

Part --- height(mm) - OD (mm) -- ID (mm)
AF25548 19.50 (495) 9.85 (250) 6.05 (154)
...... (closed end) ... 7.94 (202)

AF25549 19.50 (495) 11.46 (291) 7.00 (178)
...... (closed end) ... 10.39 (264)

So, I guess size does matter!

I finally got around to measuring the air filter for our 2000 330hp Alpine SE. I found that our current filter is the AF25549.

For those of you with the 2000 Alpines and the AF25549 installed, what is the distance from the outside diameter of the filter element to the inside diameter of the air filter canister? On my Alpine with an AF25548 installed there is about 2.5 inches of space between the two. The larger diameter AF25549 would fit, but it would be tight.

For our 2000 36FDS Alpine Limited we have always used the Cummins recomended FleetGuard AF25549. I buy mine on line for about $69.00 plus hsipping.

That's it for now, heading for 15 days in Chula Vista.

Happy 4th everyone.

Jeff or Danny,

How does my serial number, 74113, compare with yours?

With all the space between my filter element and the canister I'm thinking the previous owner must have installed the smaller diameter AF25548 and an AF25549 may actually be the correct filter.
