The BMW E39 should have two adjustment knobs. Both need to be turned the same amount. This moves the beam up and over. Turning just one may damage the adjustment. Apparently they break easily. Do a Google search for BMW E39 headlight adjustment.

Robert, Jim is correct, Alpines used BMW headlights. WRV is also known to have had variances year to year, so I will let someone that has a 2000 give you directions (I have a 2005 and would not want to mislead you).

Early Alpines had different headlights [proprietary?] but by 2000, think they had settled on the E39. The adjustment screws for the E-39s are in the back of the assembly. However, becasue of the way the front cap shells/genset slide cover is shaped, the lense assemblies are often adjusted to the top limits of the adjustment. You may have to relocate the screws that hold the assemblies into the fiberglass mounting tabs....

I replaced mine due to lens fogging, in order to get proper alignment I had to drag (elongate) the holes and trim the generator cap. Search prior threads, I know there have been several on aligning the headlights.
