Amazon also has them for $83.00. Twice as thick as the original.

As luck would have it a tree branch just took out our bathroom skylight.
I just ordered the ICON 01865 replacement. Unfortunately it's a week out. Tarp is currently keeping out the elements...my question is, anyone have any good ideas for a temporary roadworthy repair? I do have some thick vapor barrier and butyl tape.
I thought about breaking out the rest of the dome and affixing the vapor barrier down to the perimeter of the old skylight.
We have a trip planned to the ocean beaches Thursday thru Monday for razor clamming. Resort pre paid, kids coming. Weather looks sketchy.
DW says we're going no matter what. Any better thoughts much appreciated.

How big of a hole? Did it go all the way through? I have a couple of ideas depending on the damage....

It shattered/exploded the entire front half. It didn't go all the way thru to the inner dome, just broke the exterior dome.
It's the original and fairly brittle.
I think I'm just going to trim off the rest of the remaining dome so the surface is flat and cut out a piece of 3/8 plywood to match the perimeter of the base and silicone it down to the old Dicor...tomorrow. It's raining and a blowin hard still. If it does leak a bit at least it's above the shower. If you have a better idea I'm all ears. It only needs to go from Hoodsport to Copalis Beach and back. I get my winter covered storage back in a couple weeks when my neighbor heads to Az.

I was thinking along the same lines if it was flat. Plexiglass maybe...and Eternal bond tape.

That's a great idea, except if I "fix" it too nice I'll be tempted to leave it
Lol. For the life of me I never understood why they cut a 24" hole in the roof for a shower skylight anyhow. I'll Maguyver something temporarily, so ugly I'll have to fix it correctly. Thanks for your ideas.

Sorry to hear about your damage, 36.
All summer, as I was up on my alpine roof doing solar panels and tv antennas and painting, I kept looking at my brittle old yellow skylight and thinking that was an accident waiting to happen.
Maybe we should all carry a spare. You can tell by the feel and sound of the old skylight that it wouldn't take much to shatter it.
When I smashed one of the roof vent lids, I made an emergency repair with overlapping rows of 8" wide FlexTape. It does a reasonable job of sticking to itself and is thick enough to bridge a gap. Would last a week. Also meets the ugly test---you will not want to keep it.

This was my other idea, but it sounds like the hole is on the big side for that. Hard to say without seeing the damage.

Ok, the down and dirty "fix" involved carefully cutting the old skylight out but leaving the original flange, laying a scrap piece of plexiglass over, tracing, cutting it to size and white silicone adhesive. Good to camp for the next few days. Thanks for the suggestions everybody.

That looks pretty good considering.
Plan two definitely wasn't going to work.

Yeah, duct tape wasn't really an option, although I always carry a roll. The handymans secret weapon. Take Care.

Alpine36,
When you get your replacement skylight from amazon will you please give us your Review?
Quality, flexibility, thickness, etc.
You know how there is "good" polycarbonate and then there is more brittle pretend polycarbonate (try to drill a hole and it cracks, tighten it down too much and it cracks, introduce torsion and it cracks)
