Alpine Exterior Lights Light

As far as I can tell all of the Alpines I am familiar with have the same lighting arrangement on the exterior. The exit side of the coach has the lighted entry handle (I understand some do and some don't)and the large app. 5" light approximately in the middle of the coach at the top. I have found at some campgrounds that light can be quite annoying to your neighbor, yet there is no other exterior night light to leave on. Has anyone added a porch light per se that just lights a small area so you or your guests can see to your coach door area and is not annoying to one's neighbor?

I noticed this problem last week in Arlington when the wind was up and we couldn't keep the awning extended. I was wondering if anyone had found a topper or something to direct that light downward. It is nice to come home to a lighted doorway, but I sure don't want to have a beam shining into a neighbors living or bedroom.

What about putting a dimmer switch in the circuit?

I rewired mine.At the end of the lighted door handle you can seperate the spot and the handle wires.There is room in that 3 switch cover inside door for 1 more switch.I installed a little LED for the inside steps and ran a wire to the lite under the outside step.I have all 3 hooked to one switch.Looks and works great.

I added a Lighted RV Sure Step. It doesn't light up the area, but it does provide an outstanding step outline light that is motion-activated. Sweet.
It has two other benefits:
1) extends step width about 1.25" for more landing area (which is needed IMO)
2) constitutes a remarkably durable skidplate when navigating the extremely narrow lanes northward into the Tijuana border crossing. I er, well, um, sorter smacked the cheepo concrete barrier while paying close attention not to run over the souvenier vendors walking between cars; shoved the coach & made a nasty crunching sound, matched by a lurching in my guts and a few moments of terror in the wifely visage; but the Sure Step works perfectly & miraculously has only a small sanded off area. Great product, but do not try this test proceedure at home.

I bought one of those steps at Quartzite, put in in the basement and forgot about it. Since I saw Phil Belous high def TV, I've been consumed in getting same in my rig. Thanks for the reminder - I'll go install mine now in this sunny 70 degree Tucson weather.
