Alpine Horn Button

Hi Guys,
Ok...I made a bone head move! I've been parked for over a month and as typical every bit of flat surface is being utilized including my streering wheel. I set my motorcycle helment on the horn button not knowing that it was still active. The smell of buring wires alerted me to me to my mistake however now the horn does not work.
I'll be flying back to the US this month and was hoping to purchase replacement parts while there. Any sugestions for my parts list?

Thanks,
Steve Rousseau

Your signature doesn't tell us what model year your rig is. SmartWheel or regular?
If you have the SW, you can get parts from them. Not sure who supplied the system prior to that.
Did it kill the switch in the wheel assembly, or just burn up the wires? Could be only the latter.

Probably burned out the air horn solenoid as this is not continuously rated. Should be lots of previous posts on how to get at this.

I have an 06' 34' Alpine Coach. It has the Smartwheel option.
Any info available on how to remove the horn button etc?

Thanks,
Steve

Access to SW wiring on the column is pretty straight forward- remove the small plastic buttons w/a sharp knife blade (being careful not to stab or otherwise lacerate anybody near you (don't ask why this admonishment)), then remove the screws. Back of lower shield is velcro'd at the back & peels off w/the usual scraaatchy noise of velcro strips.
You'll see the white wires to/from the SW.
Behind the steering column on the firewall you'll see the air solenoid valve Algoma refered to.
Before doing anything else IIWM, I'd check out all wire casing for burn marks & replace any burned wire; then I'd check solenoid activity (apply 12V to the activation side of coil & see what happens; if its ambiguous, pull solenoid & activate while blowing to see if its opening properly).
