Alpine Mechanics in Fla Gulf area?

Just drove my new (to me) 2004 Alpine 38 FDTS back from Texas. Now I'd like to establish a mechanic /service center that is either familiar with Alpines, or displays a "willing attitude" to working on them. I live just south of Sarasota so would welcome any suggestions for that area, actually anywhere between Ft. Myers and Bradenton/Palmetto. A friend of mine uses RV Technologies out of South Venice. I spoke to him about my plans to find an Alpine and he was somewhat discouraging, although my friend thinks his service is top notch. I would like someone that is willing to deal with the steering bracket issue, the master cylinder switch-out, and some of the other issues I've been reading about here. I tried using the State sort on the Alpine Register list but owners close to me do not seem to have their contact info displayed. Thanks for any suggestions.

Not sure you need an 'Alpine mechanic,' most everything was built by someone other than Alpine. Who made your chassis? Your engine? Those are the things you need an experienced technician/mechanic. The two issues you are concerned about can be dealt with by any truck mechanic, even better if it's a shop with folks trained to handle your chassis.

All of the systems in your house portion of the RV are made by manufacturers of those parts. An RV service person can handle Atwood or Suburban, Dometic or Norcold, etc. Again, no need to find an 'Alpine' service person, any good RV service will be able to handle any problems.

Think Bob pretty much nailed it. Unlike many coaches of that era, Alpine did built its own chassis [Peak]. However, even with a proprietary chassis, Alpines aren't all that unique to the industry. Armed with the information in this forum and the ACA technical library, any RV technician worth their salt, should be able to work on an Alpine. Cummins, Allison, Meritor, Holland/Nuway, etc., are all common components in the RV chassis world. If anything, some techs might struggle with the proprietary nature of the firmware in the Vansco comm. modules, and with some of the functions and monitoring logic in the Silver Leaf versions used in some models of Alpine.
