Can anyone stay at Benning or do you have to be military?
We only live a few miles from there and it would be a quick short get away if anyone can use it.

Pulled into a site at Bella Terra in Foley Alabama on 11-10-10 and we were parked next to a blue 2002 40' Alpine owned by Derwood and Janie Landreth of Summerdale Alabama. They are Camping World Ambassadors and were a wealth of great information and help. Lots of tips on RVing and Alpines

We are at the Thousand Trails Palm Springs Resort, and there are 4 Alpine here. Our APEX, and another 2006 APEX, second off the line, and two additional coaches I have not been able to get over too yet to say hello. Met a fellow in Vegas who lives around here and he had one, and met another APEX owner in Pahrump, NV with one. It appears the troops are getting ready for the Rally in QZ.

Janet & Sid, Sorry for the delay in returning. Yes, you have to be affiliated with the military (active, reserve, retired or civil service) to stay at the FamCamps. With in 25 miles of Destin there are FamCamps at NAS Pensacola, Hurlburt AFB, Eglin AFB, Tyndal AFB, and Maxwell AFB has one located on the north side of the back bay bridge. Hope this helps you out. Be Safe and enjoy your Alpine.....

I guess there are 2 Fort Bennings? ACA is going to Fort Benning AL? Thought it was in GA since the FMCA is in Perry GA. I know it is NOT in Florida! Sorry! Just trying for a little commercial!

Sorry I Goofed, your right, Ft Benning is in GA. We lived in Destin, FL on Benning Drive,. less then a block from Ft Benning FamCamp for 20+ years. Did two FMCA rallys in Perry (2001 & 2004). Just did the Farmington, NM Rally in October. Have a Great Day.... Tom

We were sitting here at Indy Lakes in Indianapolis last Sunday relaxing, and Patty, suddenly, loudly, exclaims ALPINE....ALPINE. For the life of me, I didn't know what she was talking about. I thought we were sinking or something :-).

We spotted our first Alpine in about a year, Chuck and Marca's Apex. Marca thought we were here and spotted us right away. Of course I went charging out the door waving. I think people thought we were on fire:-).

Even though our time together was short, it was nice to rub elbows with fellow Alpiners.

We live out in our old van. Travel all across this land. Drive until the city lights dissolve into a country sky, me and you - hand in hand.

Well - I went over to the RV the other day, and low and behold, another Alpine is there. It's an older unit, but I left a business card, so hopefully they will contact me so we can discuss alpines, etc. Once I have a contact, I will update.

Staying at Morro Dunes RV Park in Morro Bay, CA. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Jack and Dona from Northern California. They have a beautiful '04 Autumn Tan 36FDDS in perfect condition. They've had great luck with it, only one repair (rear slide hoses, of course).

I asked if they are on this forum. They said no, but their son has an identical coach in my color scheme (Summer Bronze) and he is on this forum.

Hopefully they will join us. They tried to join ACA and NoWACA several years ago, but never heard back. I'm sending on the contact information and maybe we'll see them join there, too.

Very nice folks.

Not "ACTUALLY" a sighting, but I met Alpine99 in Greeley CO, while I was waiting to get the emissions certification for my coach. He saw my Alpine and had to come over to say "Howdy"

Right pleasant fellow he was, and as he is living in NV, was freezin his tush off here in the NoCO spring! Unfortunately, I was taking care of business and couldn't spend much time with him, but it was nice to meet another iRV2er!

It is amazing how small a world it is! And how friendly the RV community "usually" is.
