 Hi, Everyone.
Join us March 28-30 2008 for a relaxing weekend on the Central California Coast at beautiful Ocean Mesa at El Capitan (20 miles north of Santa Barbara). The cost for the 2 nights, Saturday & Sunday continental breakfasts and a tour of a miniature horse ranch is $150.00. If you would like to stay extra days before or after this rally, please make those arrangements on your own by calling Ocean Mesa at 866-410-5783. The rate for nights prior to April 1 is $65.00. On April 1, the nightly rate increases to $90.00.
The fun will begin Friday afternoon with heavy hors d'oeuvres, social hour and bonfires at the campground. Bring firewood to stoke the fires and your latest travel adventures to share. Saturday morning you will receive a continental breakfast. After breakfast, you may join us for a tour of a miniature horse ranch and lunch in Los Olivos. Or you may spend the day exploring the area on your own. Saturday evening we will have a BBQ next door at El Capitan Canyon. Bring your own meat, side dish and table setting. A wood burning BBQ will be provided. We'll eat and have our membership meeting in a yurt. After the membership meeting, we'll have another bonfire at the campground. So bring plenty of wood!!! Sunday morning you will receive a continental breakfast prior to your departure.
The registration deadline for this rally is February 8th, 2008. More information and Registration Forms can be obtained from the Alpine SoCal Web Site.
See you there!

For those of you who have never been to Ocean Mesa...you really ought to go! The place has only been open for a year and a half and the facilities are outstanding. As you can see in their website the trees adjacent to the spots are still kind of small, although substantially bigger than shown. Impeccably kept, with great showers, baths, pool, store, etc. It's a short walk to the beach, and there are more fun things to do and see than you can do in a week stay.
Local hiking, wildflowers (which should be abundant with this year's rains), some interesting rutted dirt roads through the hills for those of you that like to get off pavement, endless numbers of wineries to visit, nearby Indian casino, the fabululous local communities of Solvang, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, Ballard, and more.
Great shopping, galleries, some fine local restaurants, visits to a miniature horse ranch and an ostrich farm, etc., etc., etc.
Do yourself a favor and sign up. You'll be glad you did!
