Hi, I am a newbie here. I was told that the steering boxes on some Alpine DP needed reinforcing. I was told that someone by the name of Engineer Mike had a kit engineered to fix the problem. Any ideas how I find him?
Thanks, Mike

Hello and Welcome Mike:
If you also Post the year of your Alpine we can provide better information since WRV used several steering brackets and not all have a problem.

my Alpine is a 2005 40'fdts. Hope that helps as far as needing the reinforcement for the steering box mounts.
Thanks, Mike

Mike is at the Salem rally but I'm sure he'll be chiming in soon.

Unfortunately, you are probably in the group that needs the steering box kit. My 2005 did. I think all 2005 and later ended up needing them a few 2004's.

Most 04's (like well over 90%). If you have the movable brake/gas pedals its almost for sure. And all later units except the ever popular Avalanche.
Wrinkle- check your PM for a note from yours truly.
