I have the auto fill battery system on our Alpine. We are apperently one of the few that are very pleased with it except for one issue. What do we do in the winter. How do we keep the water from freezing in the plastic container. E Mike I am aware we can head south and that will happen in the near future. What do we do know? I would think if I wrap it with heat tape it will be to hot for the plastic container. What do you do?

How about a small light bulb suspended in the area? Usually they give off enough heat to keep an area like that from freezing.

Jerry, the light bulb would probably work well but I would be very uncomfortable with anything electrical in the battery compartment. With 8 batteries I do not need any kind of a spark
Does anyone know who the manufacturer is of the system?

Ted, I take the output tube off and run the tank dry. You can save the water and refill the tank when you need to add to the batt. or the weather gets better. Kent

Ted, I have used a small light bulb of 15 to 20 watts suspended next to the water tank. The water tank is in the engine compartment on my rig which is open and should not accumulate any hydrogen. I very much like the auto fill system.
