In another forum someone tried to tell me that LED's do not cause RFI.

If you want to tune a radio for best performance, A very good way to do it is to use a GATED NOISE SOURCE, Using one of these devices with generate something called White Noise, (Equal amplitude at all frequencies) and turn it on and off like 700 times a second (700 hz tone) enable you to tune a receiver for best signal to noise ratio by ear. Very handy.

I built one.. the noise source was a Forward Biased Diode.. I used an LED. Normally if you are designing a LED light system you use a couple of components to prevent RFI, in this case I desired RFI. and got it too.

I just replaced all of the 18" fluorescent tubes with LED tubes that I purchased from Marinebeam.com. After reading this post I tuned the TV to an Austin off air station that is about 60+ miles away and turned all the LED lights on and off with no apparent change in signal level. I use DirecTV and use the AM21 Off Air Tuner. I will continue to monitor our TV reception and any other quirks.

Also a JACK, brand name over the air antenna helps. It is a great OTA antenna.
