Jeff, what did you do for ventilation in the battery compartment? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>I did not fully enclose the hyd jack (like Toyz did), and I also have that opening in the upper left into the engine compartment that you mentioned. So, in other words, I haven't done anything special for ventilation. While at the same time, I haven't attempted to competely seal the compartment either.

Ok Guys and Gals I will try agan with more detail I hope not to much. We purched our 2000 Alpine New in 2000. It was not long before I had trouble with battery connections. Now I retired with 40 years as a marine electrian. My first look at the battery compartment was with discust. I removed everything and started over. At 2001 home comeing I showed it off. Thats where it all started for the battery compt.
Now on the 2000 and some other years they put three thermal circuit breakers and one fuse on the overhead of the battery compt. One breaker has a #10wire on it it is a 30 amp breaker this wire travels to the battery disconect switch in front of coach. Why? WRV did not know On my coach it bypased the house fuse so if the house fuse was open I would not lose power Bad Bad WRV in 2000 said to disconect on both ends. Thas when I removed the 30 amp breaker and replaced it with one the size of the fuse ane removed the fuse.
Ok after seeing one of our Alpines burn to the ground fire started in front of coach. Think about this seats have a a wire comeing through the floor. Frome turning front seats around the wire in our coach it has broken off once. This wire comes from one of the Thermal breakers on the overhead if shorted it opens on heat and close's on coling. Could look like a welder under seat. I do not like thermal reset relays now. I do think they are used much in indristery now.
please forgive me for rambling I will close now. DRDAVE
