On my'05 40fdts, the bedroom slide on the passenger side has just started to act up. It won't quite full extend. Lacks maybe 3". All other sides work just fine, plenty of hydraulic fluid etc. Did I tweek something somehow? Any simple (relatively speaking) fix? I can live with it the way it is, but it would be nice to have it go the last few inches for a good seal.

Please define--how do you know it is not fully extended? Are the threaded stop rods actually 3 inches from the coach side wall.

On my coach you can not see the slide rods. I can tell it's not out because I can reach around the slide(in the bedroom) and feel part of the exterior wall of the slide. It also looks different than it used to.

Wrinkle:

The scissors-type slides always leave some of the exterior siding in the interior, since the scissors don't fully collapse. If you peel back the carpet on the bottom of the front of the slide, you can better see if it is seating properly. You can also use a mirror to see if the scissors look fully collapsed, from the left side.

However, if it isn't like it was, it probably isn't right.

BTW, several people have taken measurements at the corners of the slide (distance to interior wall). Mine, like others, doesn't seen to match exactly, but is always the same each time. The seal looks good, and it is seating well. That slide always seems to freak people out, at first.

Where do I locate these scissors? Under the slide, I can only see a single slot/track that things ride on. I must be missing something.

Lub the gaskets and look for obstructions but your description doesnt add up--the open/close mechanism is a scissor-looking device on each side of the slide activated by rams from the bottom of the slide next to the coach wall. The wood trim on the slide is always about 3 inches away from the coach side walls. Assuming there are no obstructions, the slide should go all the way out.....
